Chemical properties
Such slags typically have high CaO contents and low oxidation levels. Some of these slags can chemically disintegrate to a fine powder and therefore are used as fertiliser. Coarse-grained SECS is usually recycled in other metallurgical processes.
Method of Manufacture
During secondary metallurgy, the quality of liquid steel is finalized in a ladle before casting. Fluxing agents, such as calcium aluminate or calcium fluoride, are added to the ladle producing an average of 30 -110 kg of slag per metric ton of steel produced.
Steel skulls are slowly cooled by natural air and water spray in a cooling yard. They are then processed and used for various applications.
Conversion Of Steel and Iron Slag Waste Into Valuable Products
The material can be recovered in different processes and recycling plant, such as:
The information above can, by no means, be an exhaustive listing of our steel skulls characteristics. Please note that according to the end-user requirements we can select and process a bespoke source that meets your criteria.
The material can be processed and delivered in 20’ containers or bulk vessels, and in strict compliance with the Basel Convention and the European rules which regulate the environment and the trans-boundary shipments of wastes.
